పులిచెర్ల మండలం దేవళంపేట పంచాయతీ దిగుమూర్తివారి పల్లి వద్ద ఆదివారం వేకువజామున ఒక ఒంటరి ఏనుగు గ్రామంలోకి ప్రవేశించి వెంకట్రామయ్య, నరసింహులు, నాగరాజ, చెంగల్రాయులకు చెందిన మామిడి, కొబ్బరి, అరటి, జొన్న, పశుగ్రాస పంటలను ధ్వంసం చేసింది. స్థానికుల కథనం ప్రకారం, ఏనుగు అక్కడి నుంచి అడవుల్లోకి వెళ్లిపోయింది# కొత్తూరు మురళి.
