Puducherry's ₹5 Lakh Health Shield for BPL Families
The Government of Puducherry is significantly bolstering public health access through its 'Chief Minister's Comprehensive Health Insurance Scheme'. This vital initiative provides families living below the poverty line (BPL) with a cashless medical insurance cover of up to ₹5 lakh annually.
By covering more than 1,000 distinct medical procedures, the scheme ensures that critical healthcare remains accessible and affordable for the most vulnerable citizens. Beneficiaries can avail of these services at both government and recognized private hospitals, effectively removing financial barriers to essential medical care and improving the overall well-being of the community.
