The Himachal Pradesh Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department has introduced a QR code-based distribution system to ensure the uninterrupted supply of food grains under the Public Distribution System (PDS). The initiative was implemented following temporary disruptions in Aadhaar authentication services and is aimed at maintaining seamless access to essential commodities for beneficiaries.

The new system is expected to enhance efficiency, reduce service interruptions, and strengthen the delivery of welfare benefits. By leveraging digital technology, the state seeks to improve transparency, ensure food security, and provide reliable access to subsidized food grains across Himachal Pradesh.
