Traffic Police Intensify Drive After Colvale Tragedy
Following a fatal scooter accident in Colvale that claimed the life of a 22-year-old rider, the Mapusa Traffic Cell launched a special enforcement drive targeting illegally parked heavy vehicles on highways and service roads. The initiative aims to remove traffic hazards that could contribute to serious road accidents.
During the operation, traffic police registered six traffic violation cases against offending vehicles. Authorities stated that the crackdown is part of ongoing efforts to improve road safety, ensure smoother traffic movement, and prevent similar accidents. Motorists and transport operators have been urged to comply with parking regulations to enhance public safety.
