District Collector Calls for Collective Action to Make Sri Sathya Sai District Drug-Free
PUTTAPARTHI: District Collector A. Shyam Prasad, IAS, and SP S. Satish Kumar chaired the EAGLE & NCORD meeting today, launching a district-wide campaign against drug abuse.
Key Highlights:

Youth Focus: EAGLE Clubs are being established in schools and colleges to prevent addiction at the student level.

Strict Enforcement: In 2025, police seized 32 kg of ganja, arrested 51 persons, and confiscated 7 vehicles.

Legal Warning: Authorities warned of strict action under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and NDPS Act for drug-related crimes.

Public Support: Citizens are urged to report illegal activities via the toll-free number 1972.

Health Services: Free rehabilitation and counseling are available at all Government Hospitals.
"We must protect our youth to ensure they contribute to nation-building rather than falling prey to intoxicants," the Collector stated.
