Blue Tech: Puducherry’s First Floating Solar Farm
Puducherry takes a massive leap toward green energy with the inauguration of its first utility-scale floating solar power plant at Ousteri Lake. This project, a collaboration between the Power Department and private tech firms, is designed to generate enough electricity to power nearly 5,000 households. Beyond energy, the plant uses specialized cooling tech to reduce water evaporation, preserving the lake's ecosystem. Officials state this is the first of many "Blue-Green" initiatives aimed at making the Union Territory carbon-neutral by 2035.
