Brahmaputra Floods Submerge Thousands of Hectares
Major rivers in the region, most notably the expansive Brahmaputra, have breached their banks, flowing dangerously above the defined danger levels. This critical situation has triggered widespread inundation across low-lying areas, causing extensive damage to agricultural infrastructure. Latest reports indicate that over 3,809 hectares of fertile cropland remain completely submerged, jeopardizing the livelihoods of countless farmers.
The relentless floodwaters have turned vast stretches of farmland into shallow lakes, destroying standing crops and creating a severe humanitarian crisis. Rescue and relief operations are actively underway as authorities struggle to manage the disaster.
