IMD Issues Monsoon Orange Alert for Coastal Maharashtra
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has officially issued an Orange Alert for several districts across coastal Maharashtra, including Mumbai, Thane, Palghar, Raigad, Ratnagiri, and Sindhudurg. Residents should prepare for heavy to intense spells of rainfall, which are expected to significantly disrupt daily life and cause substantial waterlogging in low-lying urban areas, such as Wadala and Andheri.
With the monsoon gaining momentum, authorities have advised the public to exercise extreme caution, avoid waterlogged zones, and stay updated with the latest weather bulletins to ensure personal safety during this period of high-intensity precipitation.
