Dhar Water Crisis: Women Brave 50-Foot Ravine
Despite ₹430 crore spent on pipeline infrastructure in Dhar district, a severe drinking water crisis plagues the region. With taps running completely dry, women and girls in Utawa village risk their lives daily by climbing 50 feet down a steep, rocky ravine. Under scorching 43°C temperatures, they wait hours to collect water from tiny seepage cracks before making the treacherous ascent back up with heavy pots balanced on their heads.
