Goa Bans Tobacco Sales Near Educational Institutions
The Goa State Commission for Protection of Child Rights (GSCPCR) has issued a strict enforcement mandate prohibiting the sale of tobacco products within a 100-yard radius of all schools and colleges. Aimed at curbing substance exposure among minors, the directive warns local kiosks and vendors of immediate business license cancellations if found violating the zone restriction. Local flying squads and police forces are mobilizing to conduct surprise inspections across the state, ensuring educational premises remain strictly tobacco-free zones ahead of the upcoming academic term.
