Islands Record India's Lowest Petrol Prices

As skyrocketing global crude oil prices push petrol past the ₹100-per-litre mark across almost the entire country, the Andaman and Nicobar Islands stand out as India's most affordable oasis.

Thanks to specialized central subsidies and regional tax exemptions, petrol prices in the territory have held firm at an enviable ₹88.66 per litre.

While mainland commuters face steep financial strain from four major fuel price hikes this month, island residents are enjoying a rare economic cushion at the pumps.
