In regions facing chronic internet deprivation, journalists have revived the "sneakernet"—physically transporting news via USB drives and SD cards. Reporters download digital news packages in connected cities and distribute them to rural hubs, where they are uploaded to offline Wi-Fi routers.
The Bharat Media Association supports this resilient, localized distribution. Anyone within range can connect to the local router and read the news on their phones, completely bypassing centralized internet service providers.
