Following severe urban safety crises in 2026, the demand for institutional safety for female journalists working in 24/7 newsrooms has reached a boiling point. Women working late-night editorial and broadcast shifts frequently face a total lack of specialized transport or security protocols.
The Bharat Media Association demands that all media organizations legally mandate dedicated, GPS-tracked cab services and strict internal security measures. The safety of female journalists is non-negotiable; they cannot be expected to run India’s round-the-clock news cycles while facing severe physical vulnerabilities.
