Drone Journalists Targeted: The New Frontline Risk
The evolution of drone journalism has introduced entirely new risks for media operators capturing aerial footage of conflict zones and environmental disasters. Drone operators are increasingly being targeted by authorities who jam their signals, shoot down their equipment, or arbitrarily arrest the pilots under vague national security laws.
Bharat Media Association highlights this emerging threat to modern visual reporting. We advocate for clear, updated aviation laws that protect the rights of drone journalists to safely capture high-altitude news footage without facing extreme state retaliation or sudden equipment destruction.
