Bengaluru–Mangaluru Rail Corridor Plan Advances
The Centre is considering a four-track railway corridor between Bengaluru and Mangaluru to strengthen transport infrastructure. The proposed project aims to improve freight movement, enhance passenger connectivity, and increase the efficiency of rail operations across the important economic corridor.
The rail corridor is expected to benefit trade, tourism, and industrial growth by improving logistics and reducing travel time. Enhanced rail connectivity could attract investments, support regional businesses, and strengthen economic integration between Bengaluru, Mangaluru, and surrounding areas.
