Tamil Nadu Strengthens Food Security Through Public Distribution
Tamil Nadu continues to reinforce its Public Distribution System (PDS) to ensure food security and affordable access to essential commodities for eligible households. The state is improving the efficiency of fair price shops through digital governance, transparent beneficiary management, and streamlined supply chain operations.
Alongside the distribution of subsidized food grains and other essential items, the government is emphasizing nutritional security, reducing leakages, and enhancing service delivery. These measures aim to support vulnerable families, strengthen social welfare, and ensure a reliable and inclusive food security system across urban and rural Tamil Nadu.
