Sikkim Strengthens Disaster Resilience and Climate Action
Sikkim continues to enhance its disaster management and climate resilience efforts in response to increasing natural hazards, including landslides, flash floods, and glacial lake-related risks. Following the devastating impacts of extreme weather events in recent years, the state has prioritized early warning systems, infrastructure reinforcement, and community preparedness programs.
Authorities are also investing in climate monitoring, sustainable land management, and resilient reconstruction projects across vulnerable regions. These initiatives aim to safeguard lives, protect critical infrastructure, and strengthen Sikkim’s ability to adapt to the growing challenges posed by climate change.
