Electoral Roll Overhaul: ECI Launches Phase III
The Election Commission of India (ECI) today officially kickstarted Phase III of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls across the Union Territory. Aimed at ensuring a high-fidelity voter list for future polls, over 3.9 lakh Booth Level Officers have begun door-to-door verification. For residents of DNH and DD, the qualifying date is set for July 1, 2026. This exercise is uniquely synced with Census house-listing operations to maximize accuracy and streamline administrative resources across the region.
