Skies Over the Sea: Seaplane Trials a Success
The horizon of Lakshadweep witnessed a historic transformation this week as seaplane trials between Kochi and Agatti were successfully completed. Conducted by Cochin International Airport Limited (CIAL), the DHC6-400 Twin Otter aircraft touched down in the turquoise Arabian Sea, marking a leap in regional connectivity. This initiative aims to slash travel time, boost high-end tourism, and provide critical emergency medical evacuation services. Officials believe this "water-runway" model is the future of sustainable island transport, bridging the gap between the mainland and the archipelago.
