A cargo ship named Haridarshan caught fire at Porbandar’s Subhashnagar Jetty while loading rice and sugar for Somalia.
To prevent a potential explosion from the vessel’s fuel tanks, authorities swiftly towed the ship into the sea, where the fire was successfully extinguished.
No casualties have been reported. The incident highlights the importance of stringent safety protocols in port operations and emergency preparedness to safeguard workers and prevent large-scale maritime accidents.
