Assam Rifles Seize Rs 113 Crore Drugs and 7,000 Detonators in Mizoram
In a major anti-narcotics operation in Mizoram’s border region, Assam Rifles recovered methamphetamine tablets and heroin valued at over ₹113.36 crore, along with 7,000 detonators. The operation dealt a serious blow to smuggling networks across the India–Myanmar frontier. Authorities noted that the haul ranks among the largest seizures in the Northeast. The crackdown highlights the urgency of securing the porous border and intensifying surveillance to curb drug trafficking and related security threats.
