Andaman Boosts Organic Farming and Coconut Sector
The Andaman & Nicobar Islands continue to strengthen agriculture in 2026 by promoting organic farming, improving coconut cultivation, and encouraging sustainable agricultural practices. The administration is supporting farmers through modern cultivation techniques, better planting materials, value addition, and improved market access for agricultural produce.
Special emphasis is being placed on enhancing coconut productivity, diversifying crops, and adopting eco-friendly farming methods suited to the islands' unique ecosystem. These initiatives aim to improve farmers' livelihoods, strengthen food security, protect natural resources, and foster sustainable rural development across the archipelago.
