Meghalaya Strengthens Border Area Development Drive
Meghalaya continues to advance border area development through improved infrastructure, better connectivity, and enhanced public services in districts adjoining the India–Bangladesh border. The state is investing in roads, bridges, healthcare, education, and essential civic facilities to improve the quality of life in border communities.
Authorities are also promoting legal cross-border trade, livelihood opportunities, and regional cooperation while strengthening security coordination. These initiatives aim to reduce regional disparities, boost economic growth, improve access to government services, and support sustainable development in Meghalaya's strategically important border regions.
