A proposal before the Haryana Electricity Regulatory Commission (HERC) could allow a second electricity distribution company to operate in Gurugram and Nuh. If approved, businesses and consumers would gain the flexibility to choose their electricity supplier, introducing greater competition in the power distribution sector.
The proposed reform is expected to improve service quality, encourage competitive electricity pricing, and enhance operational efficiency. Greater competition could also attract investment in power infrastructure, benefiting industries, commercial establishments, and the overall business environment in Haryana.
