Punjab Sewing Industry Seeks Policy Inclusion

Punjab's sewing machine manufacturers have expressed concern over their exclusion from the Industrial & Business Development Policy 2026. Industry representatives believe the omission could limit access to government incentives, affecting investment decisions and future modernization efforts across the manufacturing sector.

The industry has urged the state government to include sewing machine manufacturers in the policy framework. Stakeholders argue that policy support would encourage technological upgrades, protect employment, improve competitiveness, and strengthen one of Punjab's longstanding manufacturing industries.
