Clean Tamil Nadu Mission Boosts Waste Management Efforts
Tamil Nadu is strengthening its waste management framework through the Clean Tamil Nadu Mission, with a focus on scientific solid waste management, source segregation, recycling, and sustainable sanitation. Urban local bodies and rural administrations are expanding door-to-door waste collection, improving waste processing facilities, and promoting public awareness on reducing plastic use and responsible waste disposal.
The mission also supports composting, material recovery facilities, and cleaner public spaces to enhance environmental sustainability. These initiatives aim to improve public health, reduce landfill dependency, and create cleaner, greener communities across the state.
