The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a critical weather warning for Northeast India, forecasting relentless, widespread precipitation across Assam and Meghalaya. Over the next few days, the region is expected to brace for heavy to extremely heavy rainfall.
Due to the high volume of anticipated downpours, local administrative bodies have gone on high alert, actively monitoring vulnerable hilly terrains for potential landslide risks. Residents in low-lying areas and steep slopes are urged to exercise extreme caution, stay updated on local advisories, and prepare for potential disruptions to travel and daily life.
