Nagaland Reports Rise in POCSO Cases, Boosts Awareness
Nagaland Police have reported an increase in cases registered under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, with the number of reported cases rising from 7 in 2022 to 15 in 2025. The trend has raised concerns among authorities regarding child safety and the need for stronger preventive measures to protect vulnerable groups across the state.
In response, officials have emphasized the importance of awareness campaigns, improved reporting mechanisms, and stricter enforcement of child protection laws. The measures aim to encourage timely reporting, strengthen legal safeguards, and enhance the overall effectiveness of child welfare initiatives.
