Assam's Monsoon Havoc: Sivasagar Submerged, Infrastructure Crisis
Torrential overnight rains have unleashed monsoon havoc across Assam, causing widespread severe waterlogging. Sivasagar is exceptionally devastated, with all 14 municipal wards completely submerged, effectively paralyzing the town. In Silchar, residents face persistent waterlogging and are urgently demanding immediate infrastructure upgrades.
Similarly, Guwahati is experiencing localized flooding, a situation made significantly worse by unfinished river guard walls along waterways. The state is grappling with a combination of extreme weather and structural vulnerabilities, leading to widespread disruption and public frustration as the monsoon intensifies.
