Google and Blackstone Join Forces for Massive AI Cloud Venture
Tech giant Google and private equity firm Blackstone have announced a blockbuster partnership to form a new AI cloud company.
Blackstone will inject $5 billion in equity capital to secure majority ownership. Designed to challenge infrastructure rivals like CoreWeave, the venture focuses heavily on marketing Google’s proprietary Tensor Processing Units (TPUs) rather than relying on standard Nvidia chips.
The joint venture plans to scale quickly, aiming to bring 500 megawatts of processing capacity online by 2027 to meet skyrocketing corporate AI demands.
