Municipal Body Merger Officially Recognized
The State Election Commission (SEC) has officially recognized the merger of the Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) into the Naga People’s Front (NPF) regarding municipal bodies.
SEC Commissioner T. John Longkumer issued an order amending the 2024 General Election records for Municipal and Town Councils. Consequently, the party affiliation of the winning candidates, originally gazetted under the NDPP banner, stands altered to NPF for all practical purposes.
This administrative update, effective immediately, reshapes the localized party dynamics across various municipalities within the state.
