Rural Revolution: Voluntary Land Consolidation Policy
The Uttarakhand Cabinet has officially launched the Voluntary Chakbandi (Land Consolidation) Promotion Policy to revitalize hill farming. Initially, 10 villages per district will be selected for this initiative, which merges scattered land parcels into larger, more productive farms. To ensure community support, the policy requires 75% villager consent. This landmark reform, coupled with new training in "Zero-Budget Natural Farming," is designed to boost agricultural income, curb migration from the hills, and modernize the state's rural economy for a self-reliant future.
