Newsrooms are also creating roles for "prompt engineers" to optimize AI for content creation, as well as AI-enhanced data journalists for massive dataset analysis.

The Bharat Media Association views the establishment of these roles as a crucial structural development.

Indian journalists must be trained to supervise AI outputs and remain transparent about the technology's role, ensuring it serves the story without introducing unchecked algorithmic biases.
