Vizhinjam Port Expansion: India’s Longest Container Berth
Construction at the Vizhinjam International Seaport has reached an ambitious new phase as the project accelerates its development. The current focus is the significant expansion of the container berth, which is being extended to a massive two-kilometer length. Once finalized, this massive undertaking is set to establish Vizhinjam as home to the longest container facility in India.
This strategic upgrade is poised to drastically enhance the port's capacity, positioning it as a pivotal global maritime hub and a cornerstone of India's evolving infrastructure, ultimately driving substantial economic growth and international trade connectivity for the region.
