Ghazipur Tense After Mob Attacks Police Escorting Encounter Suspect's Body
Tensions are high in Ghazipur, Uttar Pradesh, following a police encounter that killed a man accused of murdering a hotelier's son. Violence erupted when a mob of around 100 people attacked a police team escorting the suspect's body for cremation.
Two police officers sustained injuries in the clash. In response to the unrest and to prevent further escalation, a massive police deployment, including Provincial Armed Constabulary (PAC) units, has been rushed to the sensitive area to maintain law and order. Authorities are working to restore normalcy while remaining on high alert.
