Bengal Revises OBC List Following Calcutta High Court Order
The West Bengal government has officially notified a revised list of 66 Other Backward Classes (OBC) categories eligible for a 7% reservation in state government services and posts.
This update strictly adheres to the directive of the Calcutta High Court. Concurrently, the state has dismantled its previous, complex dual-reservation framework, which allotted 10% to the OBC-A category and 7% to the OBC-B category.
The new notification resets the state's reservation structure using the constitutional baseline established before the year 2010.
