Going Green: No-Car Wednesdays for Government Employees
In a major push for green living and fuel conservation, the Chandigarh Administration has declared Wednesdays as official "No-Car Days" for government staff.
Initiated by UT Administrator Gulab Chand Kataria, the drive blocks employees at the UT Secretariat, Punjab and Haryana High Court, and surrounding offices from using personal four-wheelers today.
To ease the transition, the administration has deployed a fleet of dedicated public buses operating on 17 routes across the Tricity. Staff are actively being encouraged to cycle, walk, or carpool instead.
