Over 100 Dead as Intense Storms and Lightning Ravage Uttar Pradesh
A highly severe storm system accompanied by violent winds up to 130 kmph, heavy rainfall, and lightning has tragically claimed over 111 lives across Uttar Pradesh.
The extreme weather event damaged hundreds of homes and left dozens injured, with Prayagraj, Mirzapur, and Sant Ravidas Nagar emerging as the worst-affected districts.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has ordered swift, coordinated relief operations to restore snapped power lines and water facilities, announcing an ex-gratia compensation of ₹4 lakh for the families of each deceased victim.
