Andaman Strengthens Water Conservation Initiatives
The Andaman & Nicobar Islands continue to prioritize water resource management in 2026 by expanding rainwater harvesting, improving freshwater storage, and promoting sustainable water conservation practices. The administration is focusing on strengthening water infrastructure, protecting natural water sources, and encouraging efficient water use across urban and rural communities.
Efforts also include watershed management, groundwater recharge, and public awareness campaigns to address seasonal water challenges. These initiatives aim to enhance water security, support agriculture and tourism, protect fragile island ecosystems, and ensure sustainable development for future generations.
