Supreme Court Restores Convictions in High-Profile Dr. Subbiah Murder Case
Overturning the Madras High Court’s controversial acquittals, the Supreme Court restored the trial court's order convicting the accused in the infamous Dr. Subbiah murder case.
A bench of Justices M.M. Sundresh and Satish Chandra Sharma ruled that the High Court committed a grave error by ignoring crucial prosecution evidence.
While seven convicts received life sentences, the apex court notably allowed two elderly parents involved in the conspiracy to seek a gubernatorial pardon due to mitigating human factors.
