According to a release issued by BGUS, the delegation expressed concern over what it described as growing security implications, particularly in areas surrounding key defence establishments and other sensitive locations. They stated that illegal settlements pose challenges to national security and public safety and may also have socio-economic impacts on local communities. The delegation further claimed that the alleged influx is affecting traditional and small-scale occupations among economically weaker sections.
